UPDATE 06/16 17:58 The girls were indeed bailed out of jail, and are okay considering the circumstances. We now have over 500 signatures! Thanks a lot! Oh, by the way: don't forget to confirm your signature via the e-mail we'll send you, and note that some e-mail clients (most notably Hotmail) are prone to mistakenly identifying these sort of automatic mails as junkmail.

UPDATE 06/16 14:45 It's being rumoured on Twitter that the girls where bailed out of jail, but will still have to appear in court at a later date. We'll keep you posted.

A Dutch beer manufacturer thought up a fun and sympathetic campaign for during the World Cup. Unfortunately, they're not the official beer brand for this tournament, so the FIFA (organisers of the tournament) are doing everything in their power to keep the associated merchandise from entering the stadium. We understand that perfectly, but when some of it does end up in the stadium, they shouldn't make such a big deal out of it.

The FIFA is always going on about "fair play", but when a group of healthy Dutch girls in Orange dresses is having a party during a game, they can think of nothing better than to arrest them and question them for hours.

We think this is ridiculous, moreso since one of these girls is our former colleague Barbara Castelein.

This is a sign. Football has gone completely bonkers, it only revolves around the money and no-one has a sense of humour anymore. Raise your voice now. We demand:

  1. No bans on pretty women in short dresses.
  2. The right to drink the beer of our choice.
  3. An end to the money-induced madness that's killing the most beautiful game in the world.

Sign our petition today. If we manage to get enough signatures we'll take it to the FIFA, because this has to stop.
